HAPPkmosque  In the first mosque in India and possibly one of the oldest shrines in the world, the Cheraman Juma Masjid, an oil lamp that is believed to be over 1000 years old still burns.

The mosque is believed to have been established in 629 AD and according to legend the king of Kodungallur had a dream of the moon spitting into two which he shared with traders from Arabia. He travelled to Madina and embraced Islam but died on his way back and is now buried in Salalah, Oman. Before dying he instructed his co-travellers to spread the message of Islam in his homeland.
