3 arrested for impersonating and selling NRI’s properties

ISSUalertFraudeJalandhar police unearthed property fraud worth lakhs, in which 3 persons, Lovepreet, Taljinder and Harjinder have been arrested, as land belonging to three NRIs, was sold by the accused who impersonated and posed as the NRI owners of the land.

The NRI victims were Hardeep Singh from England, Charanjit Singh from Dubai, and Manjit Singh from Kenya.

Police said the impersonators were caught after the NRIs filed complaints of fraud.

The accused Lovepreet, Taljinder and Harjinder, are all residents of Chitti village near Jalandhar. The kingpin in the case is Amardeep of Talwindi Bharo who along with the accused prepared fake documentation to pose as the NRI legal owners of the properties that they sold at throwaway prices.

The accused allegedly zeroed in on properties owned by NRIs and prepared fake identification so as to impersonate the NRIs.
