3 men arrested in Kolkata for links to Pakistan’s spy agency

BACKisiThe Special Task Force of Kolkata Police arrested three persons from the southern area of the city for alleged links to Pakistan’s Inter Services Intelligence (ISI).

The men are – Irshad Ansari, 31, a contract labourer of Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Ltd; his son Asfaq Ansari, 23, and their relative Mohammed Jahangir.

The police recovered several documents proving their links to ISI as well as counterfeit Indian Currency of a face value of Rs.200,000 from Irshad and Rs.150,000 from the son Asfaq, and relative Jahangir. Police also claimed both Irshad and Jahangir were working for the Pakistan spy agency for over 10 years. Second year BA student Asfaq’s role is yet to be determined.
