5000 year old Harappan-era skeletons found in Haryana

Four human skeletons believed to be 5000 years old have been found by archaeologists at the site of the Harappan civilisation near Hisaar. The skeletons are of two men, one woman and a child whose age was believed to be around 10 years. The skeletons are to be sent to a laboratory for DNA testing.

Professor Nilesh Yadav, co-director of the project said this is the first time skeletons have been recovered during the excavation that started in 2012.

Pottery with grains of food, toys, bangles, and other items have also been recovered from the excavation site, including a seal with a tiger-like figure inscribed on it that is believed to have been used in trade, and tools for hunting and fishing.
