AAP councillor Nisha Singh dragged beaten by police

Aam Aadmi Party Gurgaon councillor Nisha Singh was allegedly beaten and dragged by her hair before being arrested by the police in Gurgaon. Witnesses say the police also beat several other women.

Nisha who quit her job in Google to join politics has been in jail since her arrest during violent protests over the demolition of slums by the Haryana Urban Development Authority. Her bail plea was delayed and she was reportedly arrested despite her injuries and her family’s request to be allowed to take her to hospital.

Nisha and 9 other women were charged with rioting and attempted murder and Nisha was attacked for filming police action on her mobile phone.

Nisha a graduate from the London School of Economics joined the AAP last year.
