Bengaluru boy to play for Spanish football club

BACKbboyIshan Pandita, 17, who took a break from his studies to pursue a professional football career in Spain in 2014 is to be the first Indian to be part of the Under 18 team of UD Almeria, that was relegated from the Spanish Primer Liga to the second division last season.

Talented striker Pandita was discovered by a scout last year during his stint with Alcobendas CF in Madrid.

Due to Fifa’s protection of minors clause, Ishan will only be able to sign an official contract when he is 18 years-old, so he will sign with Almeria in May 2016.

Ishan of course is over the moon with delight.
