Ojha who recently joined the BJP was the party’s candidate for the Shahpur legislative constituency. He was the runner-up after he was defeated by the RJD’s Rahul Tiwary. Ohja himself was also facing several criminal charges, including attempt to murder.
Earlier the same day another BJP leader of Bihar, Kedar Nath Singh was also killed.
Former deputy chief minister of Bihar and senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar condemned the killings and slammed chief Minister Nitish Kumar for not maintaining law and order in the state, where crime is out of control.
