Bihar town says Lord Hanuman is ‘property tax defaulter’

HAPPmeraACCIAra district of Bhojpur in Bihar authorities have issued a notice to Lord Hanuman for defaulting on payment of property tax of Rs.4.33 lakhs. They now require the monkey God to make the payment at the earliest.

According to Ara Municipal Corporation officials there are 3 properties in the name of Lord Hanuman for which tax has not been paid.

Earlier this year a court in Rohtas district issued a summons to Lord Hanuman to appear in court in connection with a roadside temple dedicated to him, and asked the revered monkey God of Indian mythology to appear in court after hearing a complaint of encroachment filed by the state Public Works Department.

Protesting Bajrang Dal workers however, forced the authorities to dump the notice.

The case is not unusual in Bihar as in February a lawyer filed a complaint against Lord Ram and his brother Laxman for ill treating Ram’s pregnant wife Sita.
