Canadian NRI politician dumped by party for view on gays

INTERjgrewalJagdish Grewal the candidate of the ruling Conservative Party from Mississauga-Malton, Toronto, who also runs a newspaper called Punjabi Post, and was to fight parliament elections, has been dumped by his party for writing an editorial in his paper in which he called homosexuality ‘unnatural behaviour’ and heterosexuals ‘normal’.

He wrote that people become gay because of some ‘shock’ in their childhood, that can be ‘corrected’

The Conservative Party said Grewal’s comments do not reflect the views of the Conservative Party of Canada and believe all Canadians regardless of race, religion, gender or sexual orientation deserve to be treated with respect and dignity.

Canada legalised homosexuality in 2004 and the Toronto Gay Pride Parade is one of the biggest in the world.
