Chicago NRIs launch non-profit Indian American Business Council

IABCWith India’s 70th Independence Day just ahead, the Indian American Business Council (IABC) hosted a reception with dignitaries from India, South Africa, El Salvador, and America on August 11.

The event was held at Northwest Suburban College in rolling Meadows, IL. Earlier IABC was soft launched in the presence of Governor Hon. Matt Bevin and Louisville Mayor Hon. Greg Fischer in May this year, in Louisville Kentucky.

The IAB council was graced with the presence and enlightening words from the Chief Guest, Acharya Dr Lokesh Muni Ji who was introduced as an ambassador of peace. He shared that ahimsa, unity and cooperation are the key requirements for any progress and he announced the setting up of a World Peace University in Gurgaon India, with the goal to combat violence and terrorism in society, and introduce the principles of nonviolence.

The IAB Council is an umbrella organisation that supports small and medium businesses, it also provides services to investors from across the globe to match their investment with opportunities for secure maximum growth. IABC is an Illinois registered not-for-profit organisation currently also operating in Kentucky and India. Its strategic partners include the Indian Diaspora Club, Government Technology Foundation, Indo-Americans Friends Group, VisionOne, and the Illinois Chamber of Commerce.

The IABC President Harish Kolasani welcomed the gathering and introduced the Council executive team including Keerthi Ravoori, Mohammed Faheem, Dr Sanhita Agnihotri, Nazneen Hashmi, and he invited Acharya Dr Muni to light the ceremonial lamp.

Other dignitaries present included Shakira Motan, Consul economic, South Africa; Silvia Toledo Enriquez, Mexico; Nakul Chand, Air India, as well as many industrialists, legal professionals and small-medium businesses. A vote of thanks was given and a shawl presented to express welcome and esteem to Acharya Dr Muni.
