"PK" a Bollywood satire on organised religion that stars Aamir Khan is now the highest grossing Bollywood domestic film of all time, as its December 19 release has collected $45.1 million in India. Globally "PK" has eared around $60.5 million thus far, including the India box office and $7.8 million in the US. The UTV Disney-backed movie is directed by Rajkumar Hirani and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. "PK"s lampooning of religious practices led to the vandalising of several cinemas and court petitions demanding a ban on its showing. Meanwhile the state governments of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar have waived entertainment tax on the film, thereby making tickets cheaper. This is seen as a discretionary call intended to enable more people to watch the film at a lower price.
