Cricketer Ankit Kesri dies in freak accident in the field

1Sachin Tendulkar, Anil Kumble and Sourav Ganguly tweeted their condolences on the untimely death of Kolkata’s 20-year-old club level cricketer Ankit Kesri, who sustained a head injury during a local game and died in a private nursing home.

All efforts to revive the unconscious Kesri failed on the field and he was rushed to a nearby hospital where he showed signs of recovery for three days, but he finally died due to cardiac arrest.

Kesri a talented right-hander had captained the Bengal U-19 team in the Cooch Behar trophy and was part of the 30-member India U-19 squad for the 2014 Colts World Cup in the UAE.  He also represented the Bengal A side in the CK Nayudu National Championship.
