Dilip Kumar acquitted in 18-year old cheque bouncing case

BACKDKumarVeteran Bollywood actor Dilip Kumar, 94, has been acquitted by a Mumbai court from alleged involvement in an 18-year-old cheque bouncing case that dates back to 1998 when he was the honorary chairman of export company Geekay Exim India Ltd, that defaulted on repayments.

The court concluded that the actor and one other director were not active participants in the trading company that had raised loans of millions of rupees from people in India and later issued cheques for repayment of the outstandings.

Ahead of the verdict actress Saira Banu asked fans on Twitter to pray for her husband’s delicate health and the case.
