Every Hindu woman must produce at least 4 children : BJP MP

Addressing a gathering on the occasion of Sant Samaagam Mahotsava, Unnao MP Sakshi Maharaj has again invited controversy by saying "The concept of four wives and 40 children will not work in India and the time has come when a Hindu woman must produce at least four children in order to protect the Hindu religion. He did not stop there, he added that those involved in conversions must be punished with death, and told his audience to give it time and a law will be passed in Parliament in which anyone indulging in cow slaughter and conversion will be punished with the death sentence. The statement was made despite reservations from the BJP leadership at the centre, who faced considerable flak in both houses of Parliament in the aftermath of the Agra conversion controversy. Recently when Rajeshwar Singh, a Dharam Jagran Samiti leader responsible for the 'reconversion' in Agra of 200 Muslims by the RSS to go on indefinite leave, it was perceived as the Sangh coming down on those making insensitive and controversial statements that put the Modi government in an awkward position.
