u18gwrp7Arrest warrants issued by a Nawanshahr court has led to the seizure of the passports of an NRI couple who fled to the UK in January after allegedly killing a Banga woman and dismembering her body.

The Jalandhar Police said extradition proceedings have been initiated to bring the accused, Gurnam Singh and Satinder Kaur to India as the arrest warrants were emailed to the UK police who seized their passports.

A complaint was also filed with the UK Police by the sister of the victim, 34-year-old Narinder Kaur who was the second wife of NRI Gurnam Singh, whom he married in India in 2011, as his first wife could not bear children.

Narinder Kaur’s body parts were recovered in three sacks from a well in Banga.

A co-accused told police that Gurnam planned the crime after the victim refused to give him custody of their two children.
