The family of the teenage girl who was molested and thrown out from a moving bus, has refused to cremate her till the administration meets their demands for compensation and cancellation of the transportation firm that belongs to the ruling Badal family. The body of the victim is in the mortuary of the Civil Hospital.
The victim’s father Sukhdev Singh said they will not cremate the girl till they are compensated with Rs.50 lakhs as well as employment for a member of the family, free treatment for the injured, and cancellation of route permits of buses of Orbit Aviation in whose bus the incident took place.
The family was joined in their protest by representatives of various parties including the opposition Congress and AAP, farmers organisations, and social bodies, who are conducting a dharna in front of the Moga Hospital where the mother of the girl who was also thrown from the bus, is recuperating.
Four people were arrested and produced before a court who remanded them to police custody.
