Fortune lists India’s Most Powerful Women

MERAarunAccording to Fortune India, Arundhati Bhattacharya, chairperson of State Bank of India is the most powerful woman in the Indian business sector.

She is followed by ICICI Bank’s Chanda Kochhar and Shikha Sharma of Axis Bank.

In fourth position is Hindustran Petroleum Corporation Limited chairperson and managing director Nishi Vasudeva followed by AZB & Partners co-founder Zia Mody and Capgemini India chief executive Aruna Jayanthi.

Speaking about the SBI chief the magazine said SBI’s financials tell the story of her successful tenure, but it is Bhattacharya’s drive that has strengthened her position at the top.

The other women who are in the top 10 are Apollo Hospital Enterprise MD Preetha Reddy, TAFE CEO Mallika Srinivasan, Shell India chairperson Yasmin Hilton and NSE MD and CEO Chitra Ramkrishna.

These powerful women represent various sectors of business such as banking, finance, energy, health care, media, fashion and entertainment.
