An engineer employed with the financial services department of Infosys was arrested by Bangalore police after his wife caught his homosexual encounters on hidden cameras in their home. He has been charged under section 377 of the IPC. He was a native of Thiruvananthapuram who was born and raised in Abu Dhabi. The couple's arranged marriage took place in 2013 but they lived and worked apart for the first months. The man age 32 was posted in Mysore and his wife age 31 practiced dentistry at a clinic in Bangalore. Only recently the man transferred to Bangalore and the couple rented a home together. However the husband did not initiate any physical contact with his wife and the two slept in separate rooms. His wife says when she questioned him on his feminine mannerisms and interests he gave dodgy responses. He also constantly brought male friends and sometimes strangers to their home. Finally she decided to turn detective and installed hidden cameras in their home when she went on a trip to her parent's home. When she returned and reviewed the video footage she found recordings of her husband's homosexual encounters with another man. She then went to the nearest police station and filed a complaint. She also accused her in-laws of cheating since they knew their son was gay. The police confirmed they arrested the husband. Under Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code, gay sex is an offence punishable with life imprisonment.
