Ghazala Hameed appointed high sheriff of Greater London

Ghazala Hameed, the Pakistan born wife of NRI Lord Khalid Hameed has been appointed high sheriff of Greater London. She is the founder and chairperson of the Concern for Mental Health charity.

Lord Hameed a crossbench peer had earlier held the office of the high sheriff of Greater London. He is a distinguished doctor from Lucknow and was for many years the executive director and CEO of London’s Cromwell Hospital.

NRI Dr JS Bikhu has been appointed high sheriff of Nottinghamshire.

The office of high sheriff of Greater London was created in 1965 and covers the ceremonial county of Greater London.
