A goat who was a repeat offender was taken into custody by police on a trespass complaint. The animal was released, but its owner Abdul Hasan, 40, was arrested after the goat ventured into the garden of a judge’s home in Chhatisgarh state.
Hasan was booked for criminal trespass and mischief causing damage based on the complaint of the Judicial Magistrate H Ratre, whose garden the goat had raided many times, and feasted on flowers and plants there. Several warnings were given to the owner, who was eventually produced before the court that sent him to 2 days remand as he refused bail.
The incident was grist for the mill of the opposition Congress leader who called it ridiculous.
