Google offers IIT Indore student Rs.1.7 crore job

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore Gaurav Agrawal has bagged a job with Google at an annual package of Rs.1.7 crore. This is the highest package received by an IIT Indore student in three years of placement seasons. Agrawal said he appeared for an online test and after being shortlisted he and other applicants were called for an on-site interview session at Gurgaon. Further interviews were held at Bangalore where questions asked were on programming structure and algorithms. He has now received an offer letter to join as a software engineer in the US. His joining date is yet to come. He joined the computer science branch at IIT in 2011. Earlier this year he participated in the finals of the world Informatics Olympiad that was held in Russia where his team beat 15 other IITs including a challenge from Stanford University, Califorrnia. He now joins the ilk of an IIT-BHU student who fetched an annual package of Rs.2.03 crore from Oracle and an IIT Bombay girl who got a job offer of Rs.2 crore from Facebook.
