The firm also waiting to acquire Tata Steel UK assets, said it will commence steel pipe and tube manufacturing from June at Tredegar in the South Wales Valleys that was closed when it went into administration in 2015.
Gupta said Tredegar will again supply steel tubes domestically that is good news for the UK steel industry and for steel workers in South Wales. It is also another step in turning the tide of the UK’s steel industry.
The plan is to restructure the sector around production efficiency, engineering integration, and innovation, as Britain’s skills, engineering and production knowhow and resources can reinvigorate the supply chain and bring about a new industrial renaissance.
The facility was once part of he Caparo group of companies rescued from administration by Liberty House late last year. Liberty House said several companies from the group are now thriving in the West Midlands of England and supply a range of core and advanced products to automotive, aerospace and other manufactures.
