The number of mobile phone subscribers in India has almost touched the billion mark. According to the latest reports mobile phone subscriber base recorded 6.71% YoY growth to 980.81 million users in Q2 2015. Spending on mobile services will increase by 4% to reach $21.4bn. But call drops are a huge issue for mobile phone users where it is commonplace for calls to be cut off mid-conversation because of connectivity issues. Users will receive compensation for up to three dropped calls a day under a programme planned by the government as a penalty to service providers.
