Man beats wife to death for making simple food on Holi !

Sangita of Orna village in Surat was beaten to death by her husband Shankar Rathod because after celebrating Holi they were taking lunch at home and Sangita served her family simple Khichdi and vegetables. The angry Rathod asked why she cooked the ordinary meal on a festival day and an argument ensued when Rathod started beating his wife and hit her with an axe, seriously injuring her. Their minor daughter was witness to the incident. Sangita was rushed to hospital where she was said to be dead on arrival. Rathod has now been sentenced to seven years in jail for murder, and a fine of Rs.5000 cash or an additional six months jail if he does not pay the fine. The court categorised the crime as culpable homicide not amounting to murder since it was done in anger and not with intention.
Punjab police officer dies after attack by truck driver

Assistant Sub-Inspector of the Punjab Police, Ravinder Mangat,37, signaled a speeding truck to stop at a checkpoint near Sidhuwal village in Patiala. The truck driver, Amandeeep Singh did not slow down and Mangat chased the vehicle and dragged Singh out of the truck. A scuffle broke out between the two men and Mangat lost consciousness after Singh allegedly hit him with an iron rod. Mangat was rushed to hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival. The accused has been arrested.
Farmers hang bulls to death for damaging crops !

At Mayapur village in Madhya Pradesh, three farmers were annoyed when two bulls strayed onto their fields and damaged the crops of one farmer Darshan Singh. They proceeded to beat the animals with rods and canes and later hanged them to death from a tree as a punishment for causing the damage. Police were informed, and Darshan and two relatives were booked under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
60-year-old woman raped by sons-in-law !

Santosh Basod, 40, and Manjan Basod, 29, were drunk when they sexually assaulted their mother-in-law age 60, at her home in Ghuvara village, Madhya Pradesh. The woman later filed a complaint with police. Medical examinations confirmed the rape. The two men have been arrested and further investigations are being conducted.
Six year-olds made to clean toilet as punishment in Mumbai school

Three first grade students at St Antonio D'Silva school in Dadar, Mumbai, were being naughty, when they continued to play after the recess bell rang, and an angry teacher punished the boys by chaining their hands, forcing them to clean the toilets and locking them in the bathroom for some time One boy was so traumatised by the incident he refused to go to school again, and told his father he pleaded for forgiveness but was punished instead. When the children eventually told their parents, one lad's father went to the school to inquire. The authorities denied everything accusing the boy of making up stories. The father then filed an FIR with the police who are inquiring into the incident. No arrests have been made so far but investigations are on against teacher Cinderella Pareira and the school's headmistress C Pareira.
