India and Japan sign 16 agreements

INVESindoJapAfter PM Narendra Modi and his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe held delegation level talks, the two countries signed 16 agreements including cooperation on the peaceful use of nuclear energy.

They signed an agreement that confirmed developing a Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed corridor using Japanese rail technologies and financial and technical assistance.

Agreements were also confirmed on the transfer of defence equipment and technology; the reciprocal protection of military information; amending protocol of double taxation avoidance; technological cooperation; collaborative activities including joint research projects, laboratories a number of other topics that improved the relationship of the two countries.
