India Development Foundation to approach NRIs for funds

INTERidflogoThe India Development Foundation of Overseas Indians (IDF-OI) a not-for-profit trust intends to reach out to NRIs, especially those living in the UK and Qatar for funds for ‘Swachh Bharat’ and ‘Clean Ganga’ projects. They will also create a focus group to facilitate contributions by NRIs in the Pravasi Bhartiya Divas Conference in 2016.

IDF has also conducted an outreach in the UAE as a result of which many PIOs made commitments to fund projects especially those under the Swachh Bharat.

The campaign was discussed during a meeting of the board of trustees of IDF-OI, chaired by Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs Sushma Swaraj in Delhi. Minister Sushma Swaraj is the Chairperson of IDF-OI set up by the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs to facilitate philanthropic contributions from NRIs for social and development projects in India.
