India now tops in receiving foreign remittances : World Bank

INTERfactRemitAccording to a World Bank report India is now the largest remittances receiving country at $72 billion this year, and the US is the largest remittance source with some $56 billion in outward flows in 2014.

India is now followed by China and the Philippines.

In outflows, the US was followed by Saudi Arabia and Russia.

The top ten migrant source countries are India, Mexico, Russia, China, Bangladesh, Pakistan, the Philippines, Afghanistan, Ukraine and UK and the top ten migrant destinations are the US, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Russia, the UAE, UK, France, Canada, Spain and Australia.
