India, Oman agree to cooperate against crime

India and Oman have signed an agreement on legal and judicial cooperation in matters related to crime and anti-terrorism. The agreement was signed by Home Minister Rajnath Singh, and visiting Oman Commerce and Industry Minister Ali Bin Masoud Al Sunaidy. A home ministry statement said the agreement provides for engagement in the areas of pursuing and eliminating transnational crimes and terrorism in its different forms. The agreement contains provisions for transfer of documents, records and assistance in investigations. The agreement will also be a deterrent to those who directly or indirectly benefit from the proceeds of crime.
