India set a new world record for the largest human flag formed by over 50,000 volunteers. Some 150,000 volunteers, mainly youth, turned up for the event in Chennai that was organised by Isak Nazar the Governor of Rotary 3230, that was called 'My Flag My India'. Isak said this is the first such record in independent India and their aim was to infuse patriotism and nationalism in the present and next generation youth. Guinness official Syeda Subasi presented the certificate that validated the attempt, and described the effort as a historic moment for India, as she lauded the young participants for their effort and cooperation. The previous Guinness World Record was held by Pakistan's Sports Club of Lahore, with the participation of 28,957 people who formed the flag.
