For the first time the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will launch 9 nano/micro satellites for the US during the period 2015-2016. Officials say theses satellites will piggyback on Polar Satellite Launch Vehicles.
Thus far 45 satellites from 19 countries have been launched successfully by ISRO’s satellite launch vehicles.
Meanwhile Dr K Sivan, Director of the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre in Kerala said a first reusable Launch Vehicle technology demonstration will be held at the end of 2015.
He said the indigenous developed Geo-synchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) D6 will be launched by the end of this month, which is expected to give a huge impetus to the field of communication in the country.
