Indian students can now stay in France after studies

Under an agreement signed between France and India during the visit of PM Narendra Modi, it has been agreed that Indian students can now extend their stay in France beyond the completion of their studies for a period of 24 months, and French students in India will be able to avail of the same facility.

Under the arrangement Indian post-graduate students will be permitted the benefit of a two year special residence permit in France and 250 French students will be permitted a maximum stay of two years in India under the VIE Scheme of France to join French companies operating in India.

Addressing NRIs in Paris PM Modi said this would give the students an opportunity to learn about practices in France that can be implemented in India so the country rises to new heights of development.
