Bollywood singer superstar Sonu Nigam, is now involved in a controversy because the flight crew on a Jet Airways flight that allowed him to sing over the airline’s public announcement system has been suspended.
Nigam spoke to the media calling the crew’s suspension intolerance and said he has seen a fashion show in an aircraft, and heard pilots and crew cracking jokes to relax passengers in other countries, which is very cool.
In this case suspending five air hostesses for asking him to sing when the seat belt signs were turned off and no announcements were due, is nothing less than punishing someone for spreading happiness. He said Indians need to loosen up, and suspending the crew members is ‘real intolerance’.
The incident took place during a chartered flight from Jodhpur to Mumbai on January 4. Reports say the passengers knew one another and they asked Nigam to sing so the singer obliged, to the passengers delight, and sang two popular songs.
