Even as India and Pakistan continue their never-ending battle, Gurmehar Kaur, 19, whose father Captain Mandeep Singh was killed in the war in 1999, has conveyed a strong message in a series of 30 placards written in English that no voice can convey.
In her 4-minute video she said she remembers how much she hated Pakistanis because they killed her dad when she was 2 years old. Consequently she hated all Muslims because she believed they were all Pakistanis.
She says it took her a while to understand and she has learned to let go of her hate and she now fights for peace between India and Pakistan.
“Enough is enough” she says, and she wants to live in a world where no Gurmehar Kaurs miss their dads, and she wants the two nations to stop pretending and start working towards solving the problem.
