Kerala doctor does not want his child to be a doctor !

MERAdoctorDr Roshan Radhakrishnan, an anaesthesiologist in Kerala, has posted a blog saying he would rather his child choose any profession, including a pole dancer, than follow in his footsteps.

He said he will never allow his child to become a doctor in India because one doesn’t just lose one’s family life, one works twice their allotted hours and takes home a pitiably disproportionate salary. One is even worried about getting home in one piece as the medical field is now being forced to worry about not being killed by the patients bystanders.

He says The Indian Medical Association confirmed in May that over 75% of doctors in India have faced some form of violence at the patients’ hands.

Dr Radhakrishnan says he has also asked other doctors to talk about their experience in the profession and what is going wrong in India.

His post has gone viral on social media and been shared nearly 20,000 times. It has already generated 130 comments.
