Kidnapped Indian Judith D’Souza rescued

judithMinister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj has announced that, Judith D’Souza, 40, from Kolkata, who was abducted from Kabul 6 weeks ago has been rescued.

Judith was working for the international NGO Aga Khan Foundation in Afghanistan as a tech adviser, when she was kidnapped by suspected militants from outside her office on June 9.

The Minister also extended gratitude to Afghanistan for their support.

This comes a day after Judith’s brother met the Minister in Delhi and appealed to her to ensure his sister’s safe return.
