Lightening strikes in Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh have killed at least 93 people and injured over 20. Most who died were working on farms during the torrential rains that make lightning strikes common in India during the monsoon rains. Many of the victims are women and children
PM Narendra Modi said he was ‘deeply anguished’ by the loss of life.
