Longest range ballistic missile Agni 5 successfully test fired

India successfully test fired its intercontinental surface-to-surface nuclear capable ballistic missile Agni-5, from Wheeler's Island off the Odisha coast. The missile has a strike range of over 5000 kms and was test fired from a mobile launcher at the launch complex-4 of the Integrated Test Range, whose Director MVKV Prasad said the missile witnessed a flawless auto launch and detailed results will be known after all data is retrieved from various radars and network systems. This launch was the third developmental trial of the indigenous long range missile, which unlike other missiles of the Agni series is most advanced and has new technologies Incorporated in it. India currently has an armoury of the Agni missile series, and after a few more trials the Agni-5 will be inducted into service.
