MP vows death for Hindus who convert to Christianity

After visiting President Barack Obama recently conveyed his belief that India will be greater if it embraces all religions and sects in his celebrated radio message to the nation with PM Modi, a lawmaker, of the ruling Hindu nationalist party, MP Sakshi Maharaj, made the statement that promised the death sentence for any Hindu who converts to Christianity and he confidently predicted a law will be passed in Parliament in which anyone indulging in cow slaughter and conversion will be punished with the death sentence. Mr Maharaj also said Christians or other non-Hindu believers who convert to Hinduism will not be punished, on the assumption that all India’s religious minorities were originally Hindus. About 80 percent of India’s 1.2 billion people are Hindus. Muslims make up almost 15 percent and other minorities make up the remaining five percent.
