Mukesh Ambani again tops Forbes list of Indian billionaires

INVESbiforbesReliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani has again topped 84 Indian billionaires in Forbes 2016 list of the world’s richest people, headed by Bill Gates.

Ambani with a net worth of $19.3 billion was ranked 36th among the world’s 1.810 billionaires.

Tech guru Bill Gates topped the list for 17 of the last 22 years with a net worth of $75 billion, was followed by Spanish clothing retailer Amancio Ortega of the Zara fashion chain, and Warren Buffett was in the third spot.

The US had the most billionaires with 540, followed by China with 251, Germany with 120, India with 84 and Russia with 77.

Also on the list of India’s top ten billionaires were Dilip Shanghvi; Azim Premji; Shiv Nadar; Cyrus Poonawalla; Lakshmi Mittal; Uday Kotak; Kumar Birla; Sunil Mittal; and Desh Bandhu Gupta.
