No separate security X-ray of tablets or iPads at Indian airports

INTERESipadThe Bureau of Civil Aviation has decided to stop standalone airport security checks by X-raying personal electronic devices such as tablets or iPads that do not have detachable batteries.

The regulator also conveyed the decision to the CISF and asked the paramilitary force to make a call on this issue shortly.

India is among the few countries that still require airline passengers to take out tablets from hand bags and have them X-rayed separately.

The decision will be a relief for air travellers.
