Noida Authority's engineer-in-chief Yadav Singh is to face a Central Bureau of Investigation probe after the Income Tax Department found disproportionate assets worth Rs.10,000 crore at his residence. Singh is said to own 250 plots other than the Noida Development Authority land he owns. He is also involved in hawala and investigations also revealed Singh spent Rs.8000 crore during Mayawati's term. He now faces jail after I-T officials raided his residence and recovered Rs.100 crore in diamonds, Rs.10 crore cash and an expensive Audi car. It is reported he earned Rs.3000 crore through corrupt practices from Noida development projects and has been involved in money laundering. Meanwhile the I-T department has refused to accept the Rs.50 crore offer Yadav made to surrender. Notwithstanding Yadav continues to be free as no case has been registered against him yet. He is likely to be suspended shortly.
