NRI among finalists for US literary award

Anand Gopal is among the finalists in the non-fiction category for the 2014 National Book Award for his book 'No Good Men Among the Living: America, the Taliban and the War through Afghan Eyes'. In his book Gopal who served as an Afghanistan correspondent for The Wall Street Journal and The Christian Science Monitor, chronicles the lives of 3 Afghans caught in America's decade long war on terror. Other finalists include Rabih Alameddine, US Marine Corps veteran Phil Klay and Pulitzer Prize winner and two time National Book Award finalist, Marilynne Robinson. The National Book Award is one of nation's most prestigious literary prizes that identify and reward quality writing.
