NRI appointed to key position in World Bank

INGENskjhaSaroj Kumar Jha has been appointed to a key position in the World Bank, as President Jim Young Kim assigned him the role to provide strategic leadership to address the challenge of fragility, conflict and violence working across the Bank Group and in close collaboration with partners.

Mr Jha is an alumnus of the IIT Kanpur and till last week he was the World Bank regional Director for Central Asia based in Almaty.

He joined the World Bank in 2005 after significant experience with the Indian Government and with the UNDP as a senior executive of public and resources sector management, At the World Bank he worked as Global Manager for Disaster Risk Management, and served as head of Disaster Reduction and Recovery.
