NRI businessman elected to India’s Upper House

80408pvabdulwahab313NRI entrepreneur PV Abdul Wahab is among three members elected to the Rajya Sabha from Kerala. Wahab who runs several businesses in the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and India, is a leader of the Indian Union Muslim League, the key ally of Kerala’s ruling Congress Party.

Mr Wahab was a member of the Upper House for 2 consecutive terms from 2004 to 2010. He is also a founder director of the Kairali TV channel, a post that he resigned after his elevation to the upper House.

Other MPs-elect are former diaspora minister Vayalar Ravi of the Congress Party and KK Rajesh of the opposition Communist Party of India-Marxist.
