NRI businessman shot dead by thieves in UK

Pragaret Singh, 35, a father of three young children and a businessman was killed when he confronted two thieves who attacked him as he closed his shop for the night in Manchester. Singh was found with gunshot wounds to his abdomen and chest in the Openshaw suburb, and detectives said Singh, who is known to family and friends as Charlie, is believed to have grappled with at least one of the men before being shot. He died later in a hospital. Police say though the investigation is in its infancy they believe Charlie's death was the result of simply trying to protect his business from armed robbers, who made off with a large amount of money. Singh's brother Toggy said his brother was a hard-working family man with a wife, Sukhwinder and children aged two, five and seven.
