The Dubai criminal court has sentenced a 29-year-old Indian worker who is identified only with his initials FK, to seven years prison for stabbing to death his roommate MY in April after a fight over turning on a light.
A witness said when he went to the room he found the victim bleeding and spitting blood so he called for an ambulance that arrived within 10 minutes to find the man MY dead. FK was not injured in the fracas.
The witness said he learned that the two men fought over turning on a light, and the quarrel got violent before the accused stabbed the victim.
FK denied killing his compatriot intentionally. The court convicted him of premeditated murder and sentenced him to 7 years in jail to be followed by deportation.
