NRI gets life sentence for toddler’s murder in UK

Hardeeep HunjanHardeeep Hunjan, 27, has been given a life sentence for the murder of his girlfriend’s toddler son in the UK.

Hunjan was convicted following the death of 13-month-old Noah Serra-Morrison who suffered 15 fractures to his body and a 6 inch wound across his skull.

Noah’s mother Ronnie Tayler Morrison, 22, was cleared of murder but jailed for six-and-a-half years for causing or allowing the death of a child and of cruelty to a child under 16. Justice Baker said to the mother that in his view she provided a truthful account and it remains a mystery why Hunjan attacked the infant. but ‘at some stage you took hold of Noah and punched him on his head, and swung him into a wall with sufficient force to cause a fracture to his skull and limbs’.

The couple had claimed Noah injured himself after falling from his cot, a claim prosecutors said was implausible. The prosecutor told the court that the couple who had a chaotic relationship fueled by alcohol and cannabis tried to wash away forensic evidence in a shower.

Sadly little Noah was subjected to horrific and deliberate abuse for weeks before he died. Medical experts said the infant’s injuries were similar to those found in people involved in a car crash or those who had fallen from a building.
