What’s possibly worse is that when he went to file an FIR at the police station with the help of a few locals the next morning, he was insulted by the cops who refused to file his complaint, asking where he was all night.
Chouhan said he hired a car on Sunday night to go to the local interstate bus stand, but the driver turned out to be a rogue. Midway through the journey some other people also got on the vehicle. Chouhan was then taken to a deserted area and told to hand over his belongings. When he resisted they mugged him and took Rs.6000 in cash, 2 ATM cards and a mobile phone.
Luckily the victim noted down the registration number before boarding the hired car.
The police authorities have now suspended the police clerk who insulted Chouhan, and they are conducting raids to trace the criminals.
