NRI murder victim’s family afraid to join inquiry

Charanpreet Dhaliwal, 22, was found dead while working as a guard at a construction site in Auckland, New Zealand. He was killed by a vicious blow to his head on his first day at the job in 2011.

NRINTERCDReports say his family is too afraid to attend a judicial inquiry into his death, and his mother said she was also too afraid to send her other son to New Zealand to attend the inquest.

Dhaliwal had moved to New Zealand as a student.

A 28 year old man was earlier arrested for Dhaliwal’s murder but he was released two years ago following a high court trial.
