Prof. Srikanth Jagabathula of the New York University Stern School of business has been recognised by the National Science Foundation with its Faculty Early Career Development Award for developing data-driven modelling and learning techniques to improve the accuracy of operational decision making. The Award carries a $500,000 prize that Srikanth will receive over the next 5 years to further his research with the goal of improving the accuracy of operational decision making. Srikanth's research is expected to lead to easy-to-use techniques for a wide range of managerial decisions such as the right products to design and prices to offer to customers. His research will now blend techniques from machine learning, statistics, and operations to create an approach that starts with data and ends with an operational decision. The integrated approach will perform 'out-of-the-box' by automatically selecting a model customised to the data and decision. Professor Srikanth was lauded by Peter Henry the dean of New York University Stern School of Business.
